PUBLIC INFORMATION REQUESTS

Chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code, also known as the Public Information Act (PIA), gives the public the right to access certain government records, including certain information from PTAA public Charter Schools

All requests must be submitted in writing and should contain:
  • Requestor's Name
  • Requestor's Address
  • Requestor's Phone number
  • Specific description of the information and/or document being requested

A response should be expected 10 business days after the request has been submitted. 

It is the policy of Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy (School) to generally respond to all requests for public information as promptly and as reasonably possible, without delay, and without unreasonable interference to PTAA’s immediate business.

If the School cannot produce public information within ten business days of receipt of the request because of the voluminous nature of the request, due to other necessary operations, or otherwise, then the School shall provide notice to the requestor specifying the date and hour within a reasonable time the information will be available.

If the requested information is not available because it is in immediate active use or storage, then the Superintendent shall provide notice to the requestor specifying the date and hour within a reasonable time the information will be available.

Charges to the Requestor: PTAA will assess fees to the requestor in accordance with applicable state law.
